Abstract
In
the complex international system, comprising from traditional modern,
premodern, and postmodern states, as Robert Cooper says, unprecedently diverse
security problems emerge, and assimetric threats quickly arise near the classic
ones. Most of the theories and strategies in this field come from scholars and
practitioners from the progressist, postmodern area, but their applicability in
the other fields can be difficult. An assimilation that is not critical and not
reffered to its own realities can generate intelligence failures with effects
that can hardly be controlled. We recommend carefulness in allocating nowadays
and future resources for each type of threats because organizational change
cannot be divided from social change. In this equation, OSINT can be the
catalyst of knowledge in double way: from society to security structures and
from security structures to society.
